Thistle recently elected a new board to guide our youth soccer organization. Please refer to the Board of Directors
page for the names and biographies of our new directors. The new directors are actively working to ensure that
Thistle reaches its athletic, operational and financial goals. Although all our directors are volunteers, who have
active outside professional and business interests, they are committed to our club and are working diligently to
enhance the overall ranking, image and financial strength of the Thistle organization. The Board is currently in the
process of actively promoting:
(1) an improved club image
(2) good sportsmanship on and off the field
(3) enhanced participation in community affairs and corporate sponsorship.
To date the Board has facilitated the following:
(1) Financial assistance in purchasing new uniforms for new teams or teams in need..
(2) Financial assistance in sponsoring teams to participate in key tournaments, to develop the skills of our players.
(3) The identification and solicitation of corporate sponsors to fund individual teams in need of training equipment,
soccer balls, uniforms, bags and other ancillary soccer items.
(4) A successful Fundraising Dance which provided a forum for new and old friends of the club to meet, share ideas
and have a good time, while generating funds for our club.
(5) The financial support from local corporate sponsors.
(6) A newer, user friendlier web site, which now allows for online Fundraising, key e-merchant partnerships, better
technical support, enhanced features, contents and images and improved communications amongst our members.
Going forward the Board expects to see increased:
(1) Assistance to teams in financial need.
(2) Better team recognition by ensuring uniformity in the colors and styles of all new uniforms.
(3) More corporate sponsors.
(4) More frequent social events (formal and informal gatherings).
(5) Improvements to the Futsal facility.
(6) Better team image.
